Who we are
The Lapp Brothers
We, the Lapp Brothers—Steve, Jake, and David—grew up in a large Amish family of 12 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. From an early age, we learned the values of hard work, faith, and community, shaping the foundation of who we are today. In 1995, Steve and his wife, Elsie, moved to Wayne County, Indiana, along with our parents (David was still a teenager). A few years later, in 1999, Jake and his wife, Nancy, followed. That same year, Steve suffered a devastating farming accident that left him with a crushed pelvis. Doctors told him he might never walk again, but through that hardship, something incredible happened. As Steve studied the human body and the connection between emotional, spiritual, and physical health, we discovered the power of prayer in a whole new way—and our pursuit of the ‘more’ of God began.
In the early days of our ministry, people began calling us the “Lapp Brothers,” and the name stuck! Over time, what started as a small, faith-driven outreach grew into what is now Light of Hope Ministries, Blessings of Hope, Overcomers Courses, Haven of Hope, & Hope RE Funding, a movement that extends far beyond just the three of us. For over 20 years, we have witnessed incredible spiritual breakthroughs, as well as emotional and physical healings. Every step of the way, God has guided us—leading us from one step to the next, one battle to the next, and one victory to the next.
At the heart of our mission is a passion to bring hope and healing to those in need. Whether through food distribution, prayer, sustainable food solutions, or faith-based outreach, our goal remains the same: to be a Light of Hope in a world that desperately needs it. Through unwavering faith and relentless dedication, we continue to walk this journey, trusting God to open new doors and expand our impact for His glory.
